Soha Ali Khan receives flak from netizens for attending Ganpati pandal the actress reacts

As celebrities become more active on social media, bullying has become one of the major hazards. Trollers are on a lookout to pick on celebrities constantly and becoming a victim of it once again is actress Soha Ali Khan, who got trolled by netizens for visiting a Ganpati Pandal in suburban Mumbai recently.

While the season of festivities has kick started, Soha Ali Khan, who is born to cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and veteran actress Sharmila Tagore, took to Twitter to talk about her Ganpati celebrations. She posted a picture of her visiting a Ganpati Pandal in Andheri where she is seen seeking the blessings of the Lord. What followed was a series of trolls where twitteratis accused her of being disloyal to her religion. Prior to this, she also received a similar reaction when she shared about her visit to the Golden Temple, Amritsar.

Reacting on the same, Soha Ali Khan replied to the trolls firmly about religion being a matter of personal choice. She added that visiting a temple or a church doesn't make her non-Muslim and that everyone should respect each other's choices when it comes to visiting shrines. She also asserted that she is not a commodity that can be owned by a community and that no one should be bothered about the choices that she makes. Considering that both her parents belong to different communities, reminiscing about her childhood days, Soha also mentioned that she has had fond memories of not just Eid but also of Durga Pooja (her mother is a Bengali) and even Diwali. She also asked fans and netizens to advocate love amongst religions and not hate. As far as trolls are concerned, the actress shunned it saying that she doesn't care about them as far as there is neither physical harm nor invasion of her privacy.

Varun Dhawan drinks for real for a reel scene in Badrinath Ki Dulhania

Actors in the past have often confessed that they had to do things beyond their comfort zone to get the character or the scene right. Amongst them is Varun Dhawan who had to get drunk for a particular sequence in Badrinath Ki Dulhania.

The said scene was said to be an emotional one where he was supposed to look intoxicated and we hear that the actor decided to gulp down a few neat pegs of whisky before shooting for it. It is being said that the scene turned out to be well and director of the film Shashank Khaitan was all praises for the actor for pulling it off so well, courtesy the drinks the actor had before shooting. Varun Dhawan who confirmed about the same added that he required the drinks to get the desired effect for the scene and that he was indeed high for a while. Also, apparently the actor slept for an hour after the scene before getting into the grind of shooting other scenes for the film.

Varun Dhawan who will be seen with Alia Bhatt in Badrinath Ki Dulhania has been shooting extensively across Rajasthan in locations like Jaipur and Kota.

Atul Kasbekar and Tanuj Garg collaborate for Ellipsis Entertainment

Industry veteran and former studio head honcho, Tanuj Garg, and leading photographer, talent mentor and film producer, Atul Kasbekar, have announced their partnership to set up a new-age, high content film company, Ellipsis Entertainment. The partnership includes Shanti Sivaram Maini, Swati Iyer Chawla and Piya Sawhney, who come with extensive experience in broadcasting, advertising and talent management, and along with Kasbekar, produced the renowned film Neerja starring Sonam Kapoor.

Incorporated earlier this year, Ellipsis is looking at charting an aggressive growth path. The extensive experience, market standing and goodwill of its promoters has already ensured eight Hindi movie projects in different stages of development and casting. Currently, three of them, developed ground-up, will go on floor in the financial year 2017-2018. The projects will be helmed by a mix of emerging and renowned directors. The promoters' driving philosophy is a budget-conscious, content-based movie, which they believe is the sole determinant of box office success.

About the new venture, says Garg who has produced several blockbusters during his tenture, "Having derived a holistic 360-degree understanding of the business through my tenure with leading companies from their inception, it was time to leverage the experience, relationships and goodwill built over 15 years and turn entrepreneurial. I have known Atul for long, and our objective of coming together is to create pedigreed cinema, which we can be proud of and creates value for all stakeholders. There has never been a better time for content power and we are pleased that in this short time we are being seen as magnates for talent; as the go-to boys by writers, creative producers and directors. Along with our partners, Shanti, Swati and Piya, we are actively building a multi-genre movie slate and are pleased with the progress so far."

One of the most famous photographs in the world of entertainment and now a successful producer, Kasbekar adds, "Ellipsis' philosophy is to spot, nurture, mentor, and back progressive, engaging, compelling and marketable content. It is an exciting time of content flux in the industry. Marrying a good story with sensible economics in order to yield a strong ROI is the only way forward. Tightened budgets, use of best practices, rebates, brand partnerships and viably structured deals with talent, are some of the mechanisms to rationalize costs and de-risk the business. Ours is a great partnership with complementary skills."

Emraan Hashmis Raaz Reboot gets leaked online

It has been a tough year for some of the films which became a target of piracy. Udta Punjab got leaked two days prior to its release whereas Great Grand Masti got leaked a week before.

Another movie that has now become the target of piracy is Emraan Hashmi's upcoming film, Raaz Reboot. The film which is scheduled to release this Friday is reported to have made it online three days before its release.

After hearing about the film's leak, Emraan Hashmi released an official statement and urged his fans to give the movie a chance and watch it in theaters. He wrote, "About twenty mins ago, I decided to unwind a bit and go on to my social media pages. I usually look at it as a way of connecting with my fans, who I look at as an extension of my family... It's always a positive experience, connecting with them. But the first thing I saw a few moments back was the trends list which to my horror read "Raaz Reboot Leaked". A lot of work goes into a film, whether good or bad. A lot of people toil away, striving to entertain you as well as run their kitchens. Piracy is a rampant problem, as we have seen over the past few months with a few movies that have been leaked online before their theatrical release. I won't add fuel to the fire by harping about conspiracy theories... I won't point fingers. I don't intend to get into a public mud-slinging match. Instead, I will request you to give the film a fair chance by watching it in theaters. It's a request, which I think anyone sensible will entertain. Love, Emraan."

Kriti Kharbanda also shared, "Raaz reboot is my debut Hindi film. Please please please watch it in theatres. Don't give into piracy."

Gaurav Arora too took to his twitter and wrote, "The oldest hindi film franchise "RAAZ" a lot goes into making a film.. Pleaseeeee watch it in theatres only. Please. NO PIRACY."

Mahesh Bhatt urged the franchise fans to stay away from the piracy saying, "We have worked for 14 years to create the raaz franchise. Don't let piracy destroy it. Watch in the theatres please."

Written and directed by Vikram Bhatt, Raaz Reboot features Emraan Hashmi, Kriti Kharbanda and Gaurav Arora and is scheduled to release on September 16.
