Anurag Kashyap says he failed Ranbir Kapoor with Bombay VelvetAnurag Kashyap, recently featured in A.R.Murugadoss' Akira starring Sonakshi Sinha which released last Friday. During the promotions, Anurag Kashyap got candid about acting, filmmaking, failures and more.
Anurag Kashyap's passion project Bombay Velvet starring Ranbir Kapoor tanked at the box office resulting in a massive backlash from the fans. After this, Ranbir received a lot of flak for the kind of films he chose to work in. Talking about the massive destruction, Anurag opened up saying as a team, they had let Ranbir down in many ways. He called Ranbir Kapoor a fantastic artist, a brilliant human being and an actor who wanted to try out something different and experiment which not many stars would want to do. Anurag said that they failed him terribly.
When asked about his equation with Ranbir Kapoor now, Anurag Kashyap said that nothing had changed. They still talk and when they read stories about having a tiff with each other, they laugh it off. Anurag also admitted that he would love to work with Ranbir again as they have a great rapport.
When the stories come up about studios shutting down and there's Bombay Velvet's poster right at the top of the article, it does hurt Anurag much. Anurag Kashyap also revealed that he had gone into depression after Bombay Velvet had bombed. There was a time when he had started feeling that the floods were because of him, the drought was because of him,the accidents here and there happening were because of him. He further added that people had attacked him and rightly so. But, he learned from his mistakes and said that he won't ever try making a film like Bombay Velvet anymore where the production costs will become invisible. Creating Mumbai in itself meant so much money and h didn't realize it then.
Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor has his plates full with Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Anurag Basu's Jagga Jasoos, and Ayan Mukerji's superhero movie Dragon.

BH Exclusive Amitabh Bachchan confirms film with Aamir Khan for YRF"It's a great honour and privilege to be working with Aamir and to be working with Yashraj again and also to work with Victor, I just look forward to that moment," said Mr Amitabh Bachchan in a Bollywood Hungama exclusive video interview with Content Head Broadband Faridoon Shahryar today. This is for the first time that anyone from the film has officially confirmed to the media and it happens to be a Bollywood Hungama exclusive.
"I don't know if I can talk much about the film at this moment. I haven't been given permission. All I can say is that it is a very exciting subject," Mr Bachchan said. Reacting to the much publicised title of the film 'Thug' he said that the title hasn't been confirmed yet and in due course of time Yashraj will make an announcement regarding the same. Mr Bachchan stated that his film with Aamir will start early next year.
There has been speculation about Mr Bachchan doing a film with Varun Dhawan for YRF. Mr Bachchan didn't deny the buzz and said that in due course of time the details can be shared about that film. He did confirm that he shall be part of Sarkaar 3, a film with Balki is on the cards, a film for Sujoy Ghosh's production house that will be either directed by Sujoy himself or by Ribhu Dasgupta and a few more are in the pipeline. "Most of the next year is going to be slightly busy," Big B said with a smile.
Mr Bachchan is busy promoting Pink right now and the passion and vigour with which he approaches film promotions or anything that he does is nothing short of genius. I know it is a news report but still I shall end this story with a line from a Nazm 'Nazr-e-Firaq' by Fahmida Riaz on the great Urdu poet Firaq Gorakhpuri:
Naaz karungi khush bakhti mein maine Firaq ko dekha tha.
Similarly we can proudly say that we have the privilege of meeting the great Amitabh Bachchan. I remind this to myself each time I have the honour to meet and get mesmerised by this towering inspiring personality.

Sonam Kapoors Veere Di Wedding in trouble as Balaji backs outEarlier we had reported that Sonam Kapoor would soon be seen sharing screen space with Kareena Kapoor Khan in Rhea Kapoor's venture Veere Di Wedding. However, now we hear that the film has run into troubled waters with Ekta Kapoor's Balaji opting to back out of co-producing the film.
Apparently, after the recent set back Balaji suffered with the underperformance of A Flying Jatt at the box office, the production house has decided to freeze its film production wing until they decide upon a suitable business model. With this decision, trade circles have been buzzing with reports that Balaji has decided on opting out of co-producing Veere Di Wedding.
With Balaji opting out, we further hear that Anil Kapoor, who is the primary producer, has approached Eros to come on board as a co-producer at the asking rate of Rs. 32 crores. However, reports state that Eros, that has been going through its own share of troubles feels that the price of Rs. 32 crores is a bit too high for this all-girls-starrer. Another challenge for the makers of Veere Di Wedding is the fact that Kareena Kapoor Khan, who is pregnant, is looking to complete her schedule of the shoot as soon as possible before the actress takes off on her maternity leave.
On contacting Anil Kapoor's office, we are informed that despite these recent setbacks, Veere Di Wedding is very much on track. As it stands currently, the film is facing massive challenges in terms of production, but hopefully all will be sorted soon.
