Happy Bhag Jayegi faces ban in Pakistan

While Bollywood films are often not welcomed with open arms in the neighbouring country of Pakistan, yet another film that faces the wrath is Happy Bhag Jayegi. This cross border story faced a ban in the country despite the fact that it stars popular Pakistani actors Javed Sheikh and Momal Sheikh.

From what we hear, the Pakistani censor board raised a few objections over the portrayal of their renowned leader Mohammad Ali Jinnah and also that of Piyush Mishra as a policeman. Aanand L. Rai who expressed disappointment over the decision also added that though the board loved the film initially, later he was informed that the Ministry objected to the content in the film. He also clarified that this decision of a ban has nothing to do with the common man. What further upset the producer was that while the board did not ask them for any cuts they directly went on to ban the film in the country.

Directed by Mudassar Aziz, Happy Bhag Jayegi stars Diana Penty in the lead role along with Abhay Deol, Ali Fazal and Jimmy Sheirgill.

Ram Gopal Varma announces Sarkar 3

In 2005, Ram Gopal Varma helmed Sarkar starring Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Kay Kay Menon which was greeted well by the critics and the audience. The actors won accolades for their impressive performances and Abhishek won several awards that year. The sequel Sarkar Raj which released in 2008 had a decent run and also starred Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

After eight years, Ram Gopal Varma has announced the third installment titled Sarkar 3 and will release the first look of the upcoming film on August 26. He also confirmed that Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan won't be featured in the third installment. He wrote, "Sarkar 3 first look will be launched on 26th August. Going by the story both Abhishek and Aishwarya will not be featuring in this segment. Scale of Sarkar 3 will be much larger and intense than the earlier two. Rest of the cast details will be soon announced."

Though RGV didn't announce whether the lead role will be reprised by Amitabh Bachchan or not, a report in a leading daily confirmed the actor and filmmaker will be reuniting for this film.

The plot of Sarkar 3 won't have any antagonist. There will be larger than life characters dealing with Sarkar traditions and dramatic events. RGV said that Sarkar's distinctive look won't change, but given the complexity of the script, the visual style will change.
