Rustom and Mohenjo Daro get Universal certificate from Pakistan censor board

The two highly anticipated films, Rustom and Mohenjo Daro, are ready for the clash this weekend. On one hand, Rustom is based on a real-life story whereas Mohenjo Daro is a period drama. Now, we have got the confirmation that Pakistan censor board has passed both the films and given them Universal certificate.

Confirming the news, Pakistan CBFC chairman Mobashir Hasan said that Rustom was passed by a majority of their members with excisions and was rated Universal.

In case of Mohenjo Daro, Mobashir Hasan explained that when it came to movies with historical topics, their board had a provision to bring in co-opt members apart from the usual five-member panel. So, they brought in Syed Waqar Ali Shah, who is the chairperson of the history department at Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad, along with Mashood Mirza from the department of archaeology and museums. After watching the film, the panel didn't have any objections and the film was ready to hit the screens. But, Mohenjo Daro did face minor cuts due to the kissing scenes. Apart from that, the film was good to go.

Directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, Akshay Kumar's Rustom also stars Ileana D'cruz, Esha Gupta and Arjan Bajwa in pivotal roles. Hrithik Roshan's Mohenjo Daro is directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar and marks the debut of Pooja Hegde

Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor get basketball lessons from NBA India

Readers may recall that we had written about the beautiful Shraddha Kapoor being paired opposite the suave Arjun Kapoor in Half Girlfriend, that's based on Chetan Bhagat's novel by the same name. We had also mentioned that basketball 'plays' a vital role in the film.

As a step forward, the NBA India (National Basketball Association) has now come on board to partner with Half Girlfriend, in order to professionally train the lead actors to convincingly play the role of aspiring basketball players.

As a part of the training process, both, Shraddha Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor are practicing techniques like handling the ball, footwork, speed, agility and basic shooting. If that wasn't enough, the duo also studied a lot of NBA games and their players in order to learn their unique styles.

Half Girlfriend's director Mohit Suri said that they were very excited to have the NBA on board with the film. He added that the trainers had been fantastic and extremely patient with both, Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor to warrant that they portray their characters with utmost perfection. Needless to say, that, both, Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor must be having a 'ball' of a time whilst shooting for the film.

Directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Balaji Motion Pictures, Half Girlfriend will be shot extensively in Delhi, New York, and Bihar and is scheduled to release on April 28, 2017.

Sikh and Jatt communities object to Tiger Shroffs A Flying Jatt

The CBFC has received a long list of objections from Sikh and Jatt organizations to the way Tiger Shroff has been presented in A Flying Jatt, the super-hero film that sees Tiger flying in a turban.

According to sources from the Central Board Of Film Certification, there have been at least 35-40 objections from various religious and cultural organizations to the way Tiger, playing a Jatt super-hero was presented in the film.

Says a source from the CBFC, "Ever since the first trailer came out there have been objections from the Jatt and Sikh communities about the clothes, accessories and conduct. We've to take all of the complaints into consideration while certifying the film."

Apparently certain scenes including the ones showing Tiger flying in a turban would have to be asked to be deleted by the censor board.
