Very few may be aware that Manmarziyan was announced with Sameer Sharma as the director and he had not only completed the recee but even had wrapped up a schedule of shoot of the film. However, Sameer decided to part ways with the film due to certain creative differences, after which Ashwini Iyer Tiwari came on board.

Mumbai High Court dismisses copyright infringement case against makers of Mohenjo Daro

After months of speculation and allegations, the Hon'ble Mumbai High Court yesterday ruled in favour of director Ashutosh Gowariker in a suit filed against him by Akashaditya Lama wherein Lama had alleged that Gowariker stole his script for his upcoming film Mohenjo Daro. Hon'ble Justice G.S. Patel dismissed an injunction plea against the film's release and imposed exemplary and punitive costs of Rs. 1,50,000 against Lama.

Justice Patel passed a detailed order in which he slammed Lama for approaching various forums and harassing Gowariker as well as UTV and Hrithik Roshan with his false claims and baseless allegations. Justice Patel held that Lama had been unable to make out a case and observed how it had become a matter of course in the recent past to approach the Courts close to a film's release to harass film makers and producers and blackmail them.

The Order goes on to record Ashutosh's painstaking research, contacting of archaeologists and inviting and hosting 6 of the renowned experts on the archaeological site of Mohenjo Daro to Mumbai for a week for in depth discussions and building his story and script based on their theories and opinions. The Judge strongly criticised Lama for the many press and media articles, youtube interviews and social media related material, released by him filled with allegations against Gowariker, and stated that this was slandering of Ashutosh Gowariker, who is a director of good repute.

Gowariker's spokesperson confirmed the verdict and said, "Ashutosh had faith in the legal system and rather than talking about this, he has been engrossed in promoting the film and I'm sure that that is what he will continue to do. Everyone is fully geared up for August 12, and also the Locarno International Film Festival."

I dont want any awards - John Abraham

While there is no dearth of mutual affection between John Abraham and Varun Dhawan-so much so that John has taught Varun to lose his inhibitions about his body-there is one point of dispute between the two .

Awards. Varun loves them. John doesn't believe in them.

John Abraham feels he may not be deserving of the awards and will therefore not attend awards functions. Says the actor, "I never go for awards functions. I don't want any awards. They've become a joke. I don't think going to awards is wrong. But I can't do it. Performing at these awards would make me feel like a performing monkey."

John Abraham also has problem with dancing publicly. "I can't dance on stage for 500 people. I can't dance at functions. I've heard how people talk about actors who perform on stage. To me it is a monkey act."

He won't even attend awards functions for films involving colleagues. "If Dishoom wins any awards, Varun will be there dancing and clapping. I won't. He is a sweet transparent boy. Maybe I don't deserve awards. So I won't get them. And I won't go."

John will continue to work his way through the projects he believes in. "I've no fear of failure. I'm like a blinkered horse. I don't look at the work other people are doing. I concentrate on my own work. I don't go for parties. I sleep by 9.30 pm. I meet some of my from my friends from the film industry when they are coming home after a party and I am on my morning jog. The beauty of this industry is acceptance."
