Salman Khan and family not moving out of Galaxy Apartments

By now, every 'Salmaniac' knows the superstar's home address is 'Galaxy Apartments' in Bandra Mumbai. This is where Salman Khan has lived all his life with his extended family of parents and siblings.

Though the apartment is acutely cramped for the large Khan family and their swarm of visitors every day-the joke is, anyone can walk into the Khan household claiming to be a family friend-any indication of a relocation to a bigger place has so far been firmly cut down. Suddenly, now there are reports that Salman and his family are moving out of 'Galaxy Apartment' into a high-rise building named 'Little Star' on Linking Road.

The report first appeared in a Mumbai tabloid on Wednesday morning and has since then gone viral.

Turns out, it is a hoax story. Salman is not moving out of his family home any time in the near future. Says Salman Khan's brother Sohail Khan, "No, the family is not moving. No idea where these reports came from."

Another source close to the Khan family adds, "For years, Salman Khan has lived in one room in 'Galaxy Apartments' which is not even large enough to house his clothes and shoes. But, he refuses to leave to a larger place without his parents. His father Salim Saab won't hear of it. He is too attached to the apartment where all his children grew up. So, Salman won't move away either. One reason why Salman has shunned marriage is because he fears his wife would force him to move away from his parents."

Rakesh Roshan may change Krrish 4 release date for Shah Rukh Khan

Even as Rakesh Roshan revealed his plans of reviving the Krrish franchise and releasing the fourth instalment in Christmas 2018, social media has been abuzz with the filmmaker's clash with a Shah Rukh Khan film, yet again. Roshan has already announced his intention of releasing Krrish 4 against Aanand L Rai's SRK starrer. As readers are aware, the first box-office face-off between the Roshans and SRK will be Kaabil and Raees (which Shah Rukh Khan is producing with Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani) as both are scheduled to release on Republic Day 2017.

Conceding that he read about the Christmas 2018 clash between Krrish 4 and SRK's film on social media, Roshan Sr says, "If Shah Rukh is releasing his film on that day, I will shift. It is unethical for me to come on the date he has already announced for his movie." However, he's in no mood to shift Kaabil, as he states, "I had announced the date for Kaabil earlier. If they are coming on the same date, then I can't do anything about it."

Rakesh adds, "As far as Shah Rukh is concerned, he's like a younger brother to me. I gave him a break in King Uncle (1993), and then worked with him in Karan Arjun (1995) and Koyla (1997). God has given him everything in life, for his talent and ethics. Knowing him, I don't think he will do anything unethical. I don't know what they will eventually decide."

Reiterating that it would be unethical on his part to release his Krrish 4 on a date announced by another actor-filmmaker first, he says, "We're here to make films, not create controversies. There is still time for Krrish 4. If Shah Rukh has announced it and is coming on that date, then I won't release my film on the same date."

When probed if he would shift Kaabil from Republic Day if SRK requests, Roshan maintains, "I don't budge my release date. When Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai was releasing on January 14, 2000, Aamir Khan's Mela was coming on January 7, Shah Rukh Khan's Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani on January 21 and Anil Kapoor's Pukar on February 4. Some distributors suggested I move my film as Hrithik was a newcomer. They left the film as I didn't change my release date."

The Censor Board gives Parched a clean A with a breast scene blurred

Leena Yadav's globally acclaimed film Parched about four spirited women in rural Rajasthan battling patriarchy is all set for an Indian release next Friday.

The Indian Censor Board has not only lauded the film for its content, but also shown tremendous liberality by leaving the film's powerful , sometimes disturbing content untouched.

Says the film's producer Aseem Bajaj (a reputed cinematographer and the film's director Leena Yadav's husband), "The Censor Board has passed the film for 'Adults Only' with just a few cuts. We are very grateful to the Censor Board. They've shown immense empathy, sensitivity and generosity towards Parched."

Apparently, there were two women members in the jury of the Censor Board who were moved to tears by Leena Yadav's film.

Says Aseem, "They were all moved and were reluctant to cut anything except a shot of a bare breast. They said it (a breast) does not jell with the Indian audiences' sensibility. We were okay with that. They gave us the option of removing or blurring the breast. We chose the latter option."

The Censor Board has also objected to some abusive language. That too was willingly removed.

Says Aseem, "There were scenes showing little boys using abusive language. The Board members felt it was not needed. We agreed to remove the abuses and the breast shot as they in no way affected our storytelling."

Aseem feels the Censor Board is a much-maligned entity. "In my experience, they are fair and just and doing their jobs to the best of their abilities."

Sanjay Dutt signs his next titled Torbaaz

While there have been several speculations about Sanjay Dutt's forthcoming films after his release from prison, here's news about the actor's film which will deal with social issues. Raju Chadha, Chairman of Wave Group has signed Sanjay Dutt in award winning director Girish Malik's next titled Torbaaz.

We hear that Sanjay loved the script of the film and immediately gave a go ahead. Dutt has been taking his time to finalize his new slate of films, turning 'choosy' as the Bollywood lingo goes. When quizzed, he confirmed saying, "I am keen to be a part of films that are highly content driven. I want to create a memorable slate of films for my fans."

Torbaaz is based in Afghanistan and is a story about child suicide bombers of Afghanistan, who have been trained to believe that killing is a virtue and glory is in afterlife. Sanjay Dutt plays an army officer in the film who wants to give these 'children of war' a ray of hope. It marks the coming back of a man who has lost everything in life. "I'm amazed at how easily and organically Sanju got into the world of Torbaaz. He is a very intelligent and evolved actor who has so much to offer. He was the first choice for me, Rajuji & Rahul", said Girish.

Rahul Mittra, filmmaker & CEO Wave Cinemas said, "It would be a complete surprise for the audiences to see Sanjay Dutt depicting a character that strives to bring change in a world that is torn by generations of war and bloodshed. It is a complex subject which requires a lot of homework and preparation. We are aiming to go on floor by 2017." The idea of the film took germ in the mind of acclaimed cricketer Rameez Raja, who got in touch with Malik after watching his first film Jal, to put it on screen.

Presented by Wave Cinemas, Ponty Chadha in association with Raju Chadha, Torbaaz spreads reformation, not just in action but in the minds of children. Coming up with such a hard-hitting subject woven with the game of Cricket, Wave Cinemas intends to create world class cinema. The film will be shot at foreign locales & will be co-produced by Girish's Clapstem Entertainment along with partner Puneet Singh.

Shahid Kapoor receives notice from BMC for dengue breeding ground

Recently we reported that Vidya Balan had taken ill to dengue after her return from US because of which the actress' work commitments have been delayed. Now we hear that the actress' neighbor and co-actor Shahid Kapoor has been booked for negligence as his house has been found as the prime breeding ground for dengue mosquitos.

Reportedly, after Vidya Balan was admitted at the Hinduja hospital the authorities arrived at her residence to inspect for aedis aegypti larvae and it wasn't found in her apartment but was apparently found in another resident's apartment in the same building. While their search continued, they faced a small setback when they were denied access to Shahid's apartment. However, followed by the intervening of policemen, the officials also conducted a search in the actor's apartment and found the accumulation of the same in the swimming pool. As of now, we hear that Shahid Kapoor has been booked under section 381B [Prohibition of mosquito breeding in collection of water on any land] and the fine for the same could be upto Rs. 10,000. It has been learnt that the matter will be heard by the Metropolitan Magistrate.

Reacting to the same, the spokesperson of the actor added that Shahid Kapoor is thankful for the inspection since he wasn't aware of the breeding grounds. The actor recently turned father to an adorable baby girl and hence he was extremely concerned about the infant. Apparently the proximity of the house to the beach and the monsoons are said to be the reasons for the breeding grounds.
