Farah Khan to turn judge for Jhalak Dikhla Jaa

Since the past week, there have been rumours about Farah Khan replacing Ganesh Hegde on the judging panel of the upcoming season of 'Jhalak Dikhla Jaa'. However putting an end to all the speculations, Ganesh Hegde recently cleared the air and clarified about Farah's presence in the dance reality show.

Dancer turned choreographer Ganesh Hegde did confirm that he would be away from the show for a while and Farah Khan would join the show for those number of episodes. Further revealing details, he also mentioned that his last episode before his departure would air on September 8 and after that he would reappear for the last four episodes of 'Jhalak Dikhla Jaa'. The rest of the episodes will have Farah Khan as the technical judge along with Karan Johar and Jacqueline Fernandez. Though Ganesh Hegde maintained silence on why he won't be a part of the show for that time frame, he did deny the rumours of fallout between him and the show makers.

Ganesh Hegde also elaborated on the entry of Farah Khan mentioning that during the wild card entry, Farah too will enter the show and also hinted on the wild card entrants being kid contestants.

Anil Kapoor to play Sardarji for the first time

Anil Kapoor never says die...or dye. In his 35-year career as a leading man, the ever-young Kapoor who has played everything possible from an autistic man in Eeshwar to an obese man in Badhaai Ho Badhaai to the Chief Minister in Nayak, now embarks on yet another untried path.

In his forthcoming film Mubaraka, Anil will play a turbaned Sikh for the first time.

Says the excited actor, "It would be an honour to play a Sardarji. I have a fabulous role in Mubaraka. I go into this film right after I complete the shooting of my television serial 24. Mubaraka would be the ideal stress-buster after the intense action and drama in 24."

Anil has great regards for director Anees Bazmee. "He has made some of the biggest hits in the comedy genre without resorting to vulgar double meanings. Mubaraka too is completely free of any crudity, and that's what I love about it. It is one of the most brilliant scripts I've come across in the comic genre."

Significantly, this time writer-director Anees Bazmee would be directing a script written by another writer, in this case, by Balwinder Janjua.

Says Anil, "This is a rare occasion when Anees is not directing his own script. And what a script! I also get to work with my nephew Arjun Kapoor. We play chacha-bhatija in the film."

Fawad Khan never considered for Rani Padmavati

Reports that Pakistani actor Fawad Khan will be playing Deepika Padukone's husband in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Rani Padmavati seem to be someone's figment of the imagination.

According to sources very close Bhansali, "Fawad was never even considered, let alone offered, Rani Padmavati. He was briefly considered for another project that Sanjay Bhansali was to produce, though not direct. As for Rani Padmavati two of the three principal cast members have already been locked in. The third is yet to be firmed in. It will be done in the next week."

While Deepika Padukone will be playing the title role, Ranveer Singh will be cast as the invader Alauddin Khilji who took a fancy to the Rani.

Interestingly Ranveer and Deepika, said to be a couple in real life, do not meet in Bhansali's film.

As for the Rani Padmavati's husband's part, various names keep popping up in the press every day. These include Hrithik Roshan, Shah Rukh Khan, Shahid Kapoor and now Fawad Khan.

Says the beleaguered director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, "I keep hearing announcements of my own film's cast. Names that I've never considered let alone met are being thrown around. I've been busy recording the songs. Now the cast will be finalized and announced soon."

Sanjay Dutt to star in the remake of Marathi film De Dhakka

After serving his sentence, Sanjay Dutt returned home in February and since then fans of the actor have been anxiously waiting for his Bollywood ventures. While his collaboration with Siddharth Anand for an action film didn't seem to get through, the actor has now signed a film which will be a remake of the Marathi film De Dhakka.

As this brings together yet another interesting collaboration of Sanjay Dutt with friend and filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar, the actor also expressed his excitement about being a part of the film. Revealing that it is a laughter riot about a disjointed family, Sanjay added that several emotions that are a part of this comedy appealed to him. Mentioning about the kind of bond he shares with Mahesh Manjrekar, with whom he has also acted in several films, he stated that he shares a special relationship with the filmmaker. He also appreciated his skills as a director maintaining that he has always managed to extract good performances from his actors.

Confirming the news producers Sandeep Singh and Omung Kumar said, “We are really proud to come into an association with Maheshji as producers and are very confident that De Dhakka's remake in Hindi will impress the audiences and critics equally as it did in Marathi".

Speaking on this association director Mahesh Manjrekar added, "I met Sanju after a long while and I realized he has matured a lot. Looked fresh and fit. Initially I was contemplating working with him as I wanted to work on something different, a kind of film which both haven't done before, something that would surprise the audience. Then De Dhakka came and i felt it was the perfect subject. Sanjay will have the family audience and youth rooting".

While Sanjay Dutt's first release will be Marcau Bhau along with Rajkumar Hirani, the actor will soon start prepping for the Hindi remake of De Dhakka, which will be produced by Omung Kumar and Sandeep Singh.
